Truckload Sales-Broker Representative (Government)

Description

The Representative will be responsible for generating new business revenues through sales prospecting efforts.  The target audience for this position is government business.  In addition to sales efforts, this position will be responsible for the coordination of full, partial, and volume truckload shipments for new and existing truckload business.   Organizationally the Representative will report to the Director of Sales.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Procure new opportunities through sales prospecting efforts.
  • Prepare and present proposals and service offerings to key decision makers.
  • Manage and maintain an accurate sales pipeline within our CRM.
  • Source quality carriers at fair market rates to represent our firm.
  • Manage, update, and improve current carrier database.
  • Dispatch, execute, and update all applicable involved parties.
  • Ensure accuracy with documentation and record keeping.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Sales experience in the transportation field. (GSA or Dept. of Defense experience a plus)
  • Extensive knowledge of the transportation industry, specifically truckload.
  • Strong negotiation and problem solving skills.
  • Provide excellent oral, written and presentation deliveries.
  • Willingness to learn and a strong desire to succeed.
